AOL, CompuServe, and Wal-Mart Internet Service Users

AOL, CompuServe, and Wal-Mart Internet Service users may have difficulties with the following services on COOLcat and the Library web site:

  • View your record
  • Renew Books
  • Access databases

One frequent error message is "Validation has expired".

To use any of the functions listed above, you will need to download Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer to your computer.  Follow Netscape's or Microsoft's instructions for downloading and installing the browser on your computer. If you have problems downloading and installing, please contact your Internet Service Provider.

Once you have one of the browsers installed on your computer, dial up to your Internet Service Provider as usual. Once you are logged in and connected, open Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer on your computer and go to COOLcat or the Library web site.

To use the new browser:

  1. Dial up to your Internet Service Provider as usual.

  2. Open the Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. DO NOT close the AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart browser or disconnect from AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart. The AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart browser will still run in the background while you maintain your connection to AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart.

  3. Use the Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to access the COOLcat (http://coolcat.org).

  4. The AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart browser will still be running. Use the AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart browser to do any further work on AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart, and to disconnect from AOL\CompuServe\Wal-Mart when you are finished.
